Ugh. I left the house for my doctor's appointment just before 10. Stopped at the McDonald's at the transfer point between buses for breakfast and there were so many rowdy kids. This proved to be a theme.
The second bus had a detour, so I had a long walk to the office. When I got there, a nurse took my vitals and told me the computers were running slow so it might take a while before they got to me. I don't know how long they left me to cool my heels after that but it was at least half an hour, maybe an hour, before they told me the computers were completely down and I wouldn't get to see the doctor and they couldn't even make a new appointment. I wanted to yell and cry but I just navigated the two buses home. It was after 1 when I stumbled in.
My "baby" brother has big news - his summer internship at a museum in Martha's Vineyard lead to a job offer in Anchorage! So he is moving to Alaska next month. I don't know if he intends to put down roots, but it is exciting for him and I am proud in my distant way.
