So, my mom & stepfather didn't have any trouble finding my place from the airport. Yay GPS! I was mildly startled when their main requirement for a lunch spot was a place that served bloody marys. There was only one place I knew for sure did; my beloved Frank! So we went there, and they drank bacon-garnished bloody marys and I had a non-alcoholic cherry ginger limeade and we had some yummy noms. Then we walked to the visitors' center, strolled around a little, and then they got total sticker shock from what the garage at Chase Tower charged for parking.

Right now they are napping. I've been looking online to see if there is a place with live music for dinner... one possibility, but enh. I like the venue but I can't find anything online about the artist. I'm expecting to hear from them soon actually.

So far, so good.

The criteria I was given for where to have dinner was "Tex-Mex with a full bar". So, Chuy's, since it meets those nicely, and is tasty and fun and there is a location very very close to me. Turned out to be the right choice, we all loved our food even though we couldn't finish it (leftovers in mah fridge, score!). And neither of them had ever had tres leches cake. Turns out Chuy's makes a fucking amazing tres leches cake! But even between three people we only ate like a third of it; Chuy's does not fuck around with portion sizes!

Plans for tomorrow so far involve Magnolia Cafe, Umlauf Sculpture Garden, and Esther's Follies.
