My mom wanted me to call an apartment locator first off today, but I realized that there was information I needed from the housing authority that I didn't have and would need before I could talk to one. I called HACA as soon as I woke up and my first pleasant surprise was that I got hold of my caseworker straight off, and my second pleasant surprise was her telling me that she was going to talk to the complex to try and get them to extend my move-out deadline to the end of February, and that she'd be able to meet with me sometime after Christmas. She said she'd call me after she spoke to them, so I am anxiously awaiting her call back. She seemed legit cross that they'd given me so little notice.

Yay for HACA caseworker! (Also, how much fail is it that the complex gave you the eviction notice at Christmas? "Do not start paperwork ticking clocks over major holidays" should be, like, a federal law or something.) (I also have All The Rants about not buying a property that takes subsidies for housing with the intention of ceasing to do so, because Major Fail Here.)
