So, my mom & stepfather didn't have any trouble finding my place from the airport. Yay GPS! I was mildly startled when their main requirement for a lunch spot was a place that served bloody marys. There was only one place I knew for sure did; my beloved Frank! So we went there, and they drank bacon-garnished bloody marys and I had a non-alcoholic cherry ginger limeade and we had some yummy noms. Then we walked to the visitors' center, strolled around a little, and then they got total sticker shock from what the garage at Chase Tower charged for parking.

Right now they are napping. I've been looking online to see if there is a place with live music for dinner... one possibility, but enh. I like the venue but I can't find anything online about the artist. I'm expecting to hear from them soon actually.

So far, so good.

Yay, yay, yay, and can I say yay again?! And also both bloody marys and cherry ginger limeade sound amazing. (I am a sucker for anything with ginger, mostly.) But mostly, yay that your family visitation is going well! *hugshugshugs* I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!!!!!!

They just called, they're on their way and we're gonna get dinner and once again the main criteria was MUST HAVE BOOZE. It's really weird because my mom did not drink at all when I was growing up!

I'll be suggesting Chuy's. Solid Tex-Mex, touristy but not revoltingly so, and one of their locations busted Jenna Bush with a fake ID back in the day :)
