If anyone knows any good, enjoyable-to-read sources on
child labor in the US & the UK in the 18th & 19th centuries
servants in the US & the UK in the 18th & 19th centuries
magical societies in the US & the UK in the late 19th and early 20th
it would help me firm up the backgrounds for a couple of the characters.
I'd love a head's-up.
I should be trying to do some research on Moors in Spain too, but I'm not ready to deal with anything beyond "his name is Julio and he's Ambiguously Brown" about that character yet.
