I didn't hear back from my caseworker at the Housing Authority yesterday, and now they're closed until Tuesday.

I'm hurting so much right now.

I'm all for making friends! It's good that Dreamwidth is growing.

I'm afraid I'll probably be pretty mopey for the immediate future, though.

Eurgh! That is stressful! It does sound like your caseworker was attacking the problem; it's possible that the folks who are high-up-enough in your apartment complex's hierarchy to make decisions are not available what with Christmas and that's why she didn't get back to you yet. Right now, with the holiday, no news is probably good news.
