Tried a crisis-chat today. The guy seemed nice enough but didn't seem to get a lot of what I was telling him. Of course, I don't think I've been the best at explaining things lately. His housing assistance suggestions weren't really applicable to my current situation but he was trying to be helpful and obviously meant well; for people in different situations they would have been very good suggestions.

I'm just... stress and despair and being overwhelmed have me practically paralyzed. Even getting out of bed to get something to eat or go to the bathroom is a struggle. I have no idea how to handle moving when I can barely get it together enough to brush my hair three times a week.

Urgh, urgh, urgh.

With any luck there will be some good news from your caseworker as regards the housing authority's end of things. As regards the downswing: you are doing the right thing by reaching out to resources, like the crisis chat; it may be a good thing to mention this to your HACA caseworker by way of reasons for an extension, given that you are receiving public assistance because of your mood disorder (among other things?).
