The gastroenterologist was a real jerk, flat-out mean. The other people in the office seemed pretty cold and distant too. My colonoscopy is scheduled for a month from today. They couldn't tell me how much the anesthesia will be. The prep takes a week and sounds seriously unpleasant. I kind of want to back out and cancel the damn thing, but I basically have a slow leak and I could bleed out if they don't find out why.

I still want to back out. I'm scared and the staff isn't at all reassuring.

I was able to get something else daunting taken care of, though. The apartment complex office needed a copy of my Social Security award letter and I couldn't find it, but they were able to print out a copy from the SSA website so I should be all set for my lease renewal.

My one and only visit to a gastroenterologist suggests that there is possibly a class in "The Antithesis of Bedside Manner" offered in GI-doc programs, possibly as a requirement for board certification in their specialty. /snark

I am really, really proud of you for sticking with this. It's hard work to keep going when you're tired and scared and other people are making a scary process even scarier.

Also, congrats on the silver lining of getting your SSA letter and thus getting set for your lease renewal!
